Did you know that many types of greases are not compatible with each other?

Grease is essentially a heavy oil suspended in a type of soap base. This soap base is what keeps the oil from running out or off the surfaces they protect.

The soap base can be one of several compounds but usually it is an aluminum complex or a lithium complex. The problem with the compounds is, many of them are not compatible with each other and when mixed, can cause failure.

When using a different grease, make sure you are disassemble and completely clean all of the old grease out first or stick with the same grease as before to avoid any potential problems or failures.
